We have put together an interesting and rich conference program. It includes a keynote talk on circular resilience, a panel discussion on IS leadership education and a variety of presentations on IS theory and practice through time, from the past and towards the future. Finally, to indulge in a bit of high-tech we organized a fascinating workshop which will harness the potential of VR technology in education and will be delivered to us by Edify.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
Edify: A User Generated Content Platform for Educators
The workshop will introduce Edify, an immersive learning platform that harnesses the potential of Virtual Reality technology for enhancing pedagogy by providing the functionality required for creating educational experiences in VR. It will explain the background which led to the development of the platform as well as some key current case studies of how this technology is being utilised within the education sector and how its use is generating research within the fast-moving area of immersive technology as applied within education. Finally, it will provide a live demonstration of the platform utilising a method of delivery we call ‘VR by Proxy’.

Sarune Savickaite is a PhD candidate at the School of Psychology and Neuroscience, University of Glasgow, and Education Research Manager at Edify. Dr Nathan Kirkwood is Education Partnerships Manager at Edify and has a detailed history of working with academics to integrate immersive technology into their curricula.
